General Amusement Industry Thread

1 to 25 of 120

I wasn't sure what thread to post this in and I don't think this is worth starting a new thread, so I'll post it here. Is anybody else subscribed to Coaster Touring on YT? Here is their latest video: https://youtu.be/4uT3PU5v4q0 They have tons of amazing 4K footage of rides - mainly GG's. It's like watching a well-crafted NL2 cinematic video, but in real life.

Zamperla got a new patent, and I just want that to happen.
It's basically a water-pressure powered space-shot tower! Basically what if you put seats on top of a water jet.

EDIT: Still from Zamperla, here are two concept-arts for their newest coaster car:

Haha no. The bouncy car was my idea (admitly based on this car design tho). But the concept from Zamperla is rotating or shifting (there are two variants as far as I understand).

Here is the factory mock-up...

... and the patent:

CoastesWorld posted yet another interview from the last EAS (2017), thistime it's Chad Miller from The Gravity Group. It's really worth the watch!

^^Really interesting stuff. Nice to get some clarification on the scope/extent of their partnership with M&V.

...and I guess that means I should scold Gravitykraft, rather than M&V, for how unintentionally rough Mineblower has been since day one. Hey GK! Step your fit and finish game up. I shouldn't be able to feel every bent on a ride that opened a month ago that has only ever run Timberliners.

Yes exactly...
ALTHOUGH, it's really hard to blame on somebody unless you have the full story. Maybe the park gave them an impossible deadline and said "whatever, make it runs that's all I'm asking for", or maybe their subcontractors betrayed them, or...

I've been on two ground up rides with Timberliners and they both run the exact same way, terribly. The issue is absolutely the Timberliners, that couldn't be more clear with Mine Blower. Sit in the back of an empty train on MB and you can see all the other cars vigorously shaking. Based on the bogie POV that Midway Mayhem posted near it's opening, it looks like that since the bogies are steering but are not springloaded, they're very loose and shake around a lot. It also doesn't help that the seat foam is super firm and barely absorbs any of the vibrations.

I disagree completely, that was one of the two rides I was referring to. While it isn't painfully rough, it has insane vibrations and is way rougher than a ride that new should be. Maybe you rode it before I did before it had a chance to get that rough.
