NoLimits Central is the official community website for the NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulator. You can share and discover parks on the Exchange, join the forum to discuss NoLimits Coaster, talk about your creations, theme parks, and roller coasters. You can also chat with the community on our official Discord server.
This page covers the various features of the Exchange, Forum, and other areas of NoLimits Central. Before joining in, make sure you've read the community Rules.
Features
Below are the various features of NoLimits Central and how to use each area of the website.
Exchange
The Exchange is where you can share your NoLimits Coaster parks, discover other creators' work, and leave ratings and feedback. Additionally, NoLimits Central syncs the official NoLimits Coaster Steam Workshop parks to the Exchange, and also indexes their metadata. This allows the full NoLimits Coaster catalog to be searchable on the site.
Uploading
To upload a park, you must first be logged into NoLimits Central. Then you may upload your park by clicking the "Upload Park" button on the Exchange page. The following restrictions apply to parks:
- One .nl2pkg file, up to 10 GB.
- One to five preview images in .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .webp format.
- Each image can be up to 50 MB.
Once you've selected a park to upload, NoLimits Central will automatically parse relevant metadata from the package, such as its name, description, and coaster details. You may edit this before uploading, as well as add a YouTube video or Steam Workshop link.
Updating & Versioning
To update a park uploaded directly to NoLimits Central, click the dropdown arrow on the top right of the park's page, then click "Edit". There, you will be able to edit details about your park. You may also upload a new version of your park by selecting a new .nl2pkg file. This will solely update the file itself, any additional coasters, name changes, or description changes, should be done in the form itself.
Following creators
Follow creators to receive notifications when they upload a park or release a new version, including updates to their Steam Workshop parks. Hovering a user's username will show a popover button to follow them.
Ratings
After you've downloaded a park on NoLimits Central, you can leave a review or rating for it on its park page. Ratings follow a standard 5-star system, and you may leave either a review and no rating, a rating and no review, or both.
Forum
The forum is where you can share your projects, ask questions, get feedback, and talk about NoLimits Coaster, theme parks, roller coasters, and anything else. Topics are organized into categories, each with its own subject, so choose the category that best fits what you're posting.
Starting a Topic
To start a topic, you must first be logged into NoLimits Central. Then you may start a topic by clicking the "Start Topic" button on the Forum page. Select a category, give your topic a name, and write your first post, then click "Start Topic" to post it.
Replying
To reply to a topic, write your reply in the "Post Reply" box at the bottom of the topic, then click "Post Reply". Locked and sunken topics can no longer be replied to.
Quoting
To quote someone, click the reply arrow on the top right of their post. This adds their post to your reply as a quote, along with a link back to the original post. You may quote multiple posts in the same reply, and trim each quote down to the part you're responding to.
Editing & Deleting
To edit one of your posts, click the dropdown arrow on the top right of the post, then click "Edit". Editing the first post of your topic also lets you change the topic's name. You may delete a reply from the same dropdown, and deleting the first post of your topic will delete the entire topic.
Text Editor
Posts are written with a WYSIWYG editor, so what you see while writing is what will be posted. Posts can be up to 10,000 characters, and the toolbar above the editor lets you:
- Format text with bold, italic, strikethrough, and headings.
- Add links, and align text to the center or right.
- Insert tables and code blocks.
- Upload .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .webp images, up to 10 MB and 4096 x 4096 pixels each.
- Embed YouTube videos.
- Add emoji.
Following Topics
Click the heart next to a topic to follow it and receive notifications when other members reply. Click it again to unfollow. Your followed topics are listed under "Followed Topics" on the Forum page, and topics with posts you haven't seen yet are listed under "Unseen Posts".
Reporting
If you come across something that breaks the Rules, you can report it to the moderators. To report a park, rating, topic, or forum post, you must first be logged into NoLimits Central. Then click the shield icon on the top right of it, add any additional context that may help the moderators, such as which rule it breaks, then click "Report".
Moderators will review the report and take appropriate action. You may only report something once, and reports that don't identify a rule violation may be dismissed.
Feedback
Have an idea for a new feature, found a bug, or just want to share what you think of NoLimits Central? To send feedback, you must first be logged into NoLimits Central. Then open the user menu on the top right of the page, click "Feedback", write your message, and click "Send". Feedback can be up to 2,000 characters, and is sent directly to the NoLimits Central admins.
