Contest usually takes place from 11 am Eastern (17:00 Central European Time) to 4 pm (22:00). 30 minutes before the contest starts the contest map and special conditions will be revealed, usually in a technical issue riddled multiple failed attempt live broadcast.
Not sure if this timeframe is final

That should help figure out the time zone difference.

Here's a rule revealed that probably won't help you:
We're only requiring 1 coaster this year, and you can build any style you want, wood or steel.

Thanks for the early rule reveal. Now i can stop stressing about the possibility of trying to build 2 coasters in 5 hours š
Is there a form to fill in order to participate ?
Are we allowed to use Bestdanis blockscript blocks to make backwards sections?
^^ No, but there will be a form to submit your entry once done. The link to that form will be in the park description of the contest park.
^ No. Stick to things within NoLimits 2. In fact, it's best to not lock your mind into what ride you want to build before you've seen the build area and know the specific rules that must be met. That will happen 30 minutes before the contest start time. Once you know the rules you can plan on what you can build that meets those rules.

My jet coaster just might break almost all the rules for the build area.
so is the in-game FVD fair game, but not external FVD programs such as FVD++?
Correct.
-Ride_Op
Hi Ride_Op, may I ask why FVD++ is forbidden in the competition ?
I mean FVD++ users also have constraints such as the fact that we do not see the track on the nl2 terrain in realtime...
But i respect the choice.
In the past, they have wanted to keep this competition purely NL2 based. So, that means no using any 3rd party software. This is also why things like custom scenery and scripted operations havenāt been allowed either. The 5HoP Park that has been built over the years has become a showcase of āthis was 100% done with what is packaged in NL2ā.
I may give this a try.
Adding to the above, it also levels the playing field. Not everyone is well versed in FVD++, which means those that aren't have a disadvantage since FVD++ can make perfect tracks. Same tools, same system, same constraints for everyone to make it fair. Disallowing scenery removes the advantage from theming.
Spend the 5 hours building, smoothing, supporting, and testing your coaster. You'll need all of it.

Fair points - I must add however that the inverse is also true. Many prospective contestants may not be well-versed with the in-game tools, whether that be hand-building or the built-in FVD. Taking away their primary tool makes entering very hard, if not impossible, since they may not have enough experience to sucessfully shape their ride in the very short timespan. For these users, FVD isnāt necessarily an advantage or an easy way to make a smooth ride - many are very skilled with shaping and itās just a totally different skillset. They may be just as skilled as the handbuilders, just a in a different aspect :)
Looking forward to participating!

Ride_Op. You mention above disallowing scenery? Is that just externally imported stuff or can we use in game scenery like trees, rocks, terra painting and structures built using supports to enhance the coaster (if we have time... Lol)
You can't use external scenery. You can use built-in scenery, but we will not factory scenery into our ratings.

Ride Op, please help. why is the downloaded park not editable?
You need to extract the package

Can everyone take part in the contest or do I have to sign up somewhere?
