What are the forces like on that ridiculous looking element? I do think it looks ridiculous, but that's not a bad thing if it could be insane and realistic as well.

I just wish B&M would make a dive coaster that's actually intense and doesn't have vest restraints... but I know that won't happen. Still excited to see how the layout turns out.

At least Wavebreaker was advertised as a family coaster haha. It's a decent ride in the very front if you put your hands up and let the forces (what little forces there are) take over. Other than that... yeah it's not gr...

Except I haven't heard about any problems with the restraints on the ones that don't have the comfort collar?

I love how ironic the name "comfort collar" is. They are... not that. The only SR2 I've ridden is Tempesto, and even with the collars it was a very fun and intense ride.
