Site Feedback & Suggestions
Not on many laptops...
I've never once used that in my life lmao.
I suggested that as well on page 1. Very handy if you only use your mouse at the moment.

I may delete this thread in the next couple of days, any other bugs / suggestions can be messaged to me
I think this thread should stay (or at least a list of previous suggestions) so people know what’s already been suggested and don’t ask you the same question 50 times
I don't see a reason to remove the thread.
I just posted a news article on a few updates I did to the site - https://nolimitscentral.com/news/site-updates-quick-searching-user-searching-more
Let me know what you all think!
I'm wondering if there's still a wiki or something comparable planned for this site?
I'm aware of the steam community guide sections and the reddit NoLimits 2 wiki, but both are lacking content and attention. I guess a FAQ section combined with a wiki would be helpful since one reads the same questions over and over again which is understandable since there's no central place where such information can be quickly found. The mega resource thread might help but I guess this form is lacking the flexibility of something specialy dedicated to it, I'm also not a huge fan of the steam guide system.
I'm asking since I have some resources that I had posted on NLE but I thought it would be maybe better to wait before doing the work of linking and describing theme somewhere where they would hardly be found or putting it back into dedicated threads as on NLE when something like this is still planned for this site in the not so far future.
^ The wiki that was planned for the site was scrapped to help get it out before the end of 2017. I don't know if there's an extremely high demand for it, but I agree there should be a more dedicated place for faqs / guides / "cookbooks", etc.
Like you said, most people have just made their own topic's for any guides, and those have then been linked in the Resources topic. Feel free to PM me with any ideas on how you think a wiki could work though! I don't think it'll be something that I get to at this very moment, but definitely something that could happen within the next 1 or 2 months and ideas would definitely help.
Is there an "ignore user" option?
I want it.
There isn't and it's not planned. Why though? There's a report button for posts you think are provocative. Also would it be simply on the forum, or on other things like exchange and PM's? Either way it's not really something I plan on adding, if someone is being that problematic it probably needs to be addressed.
Can i switch back to the old colors ?

Yes, there is an option in account settings
@COASTERGUY246, tnx for your reply.
This dark theme is sweet, I know you don’t need my approval, but I approve. It especially looks good with the coaster picture up top. Well done.
Under dark theme on mobile, the text when composing a comment is black against a dark gray background, making it very hard to see. Would you please lighten the text?

^ Delayed the fix for that a bit so I could push it out with a shiny new toolbar ;)
^^ Thank you!
Ooooh!
Tool bar is shiny indeed! Text looks much better now, thanks.

I just noticed all the extra buttons in the text box! ^_^
I'm wondering if it could be made possible to update packages that were uploaded to the NLC.
I mainly upload assets for NL2 that rather frequently get some updates (I also guess nobody would like to have the exchange polluted with multiple versions of the same upload with the danger of accidentally downloading an outdated version) and I have even updated my full park packages in the past that were upload to the Steam Workshop or other free hosting options.
That is definitely doable. The original intent of the exchange was to offer a simple way to share NoLimits parks, much how like other sites that have exchanges do. However after some time being live, I think it should be broken down a bit more. This would mean you can upload different types of "parks" to the exchange. The default being what is already there, a park that you can rate. The other being an "asset", that is, a package or even a simple nl2park that is meant to share / showcase a script, model, etc. This type of park you won't be able to rate, but you will be able to post comments (a more simplified version of comments that is, basically like what is there now with ratings, without the rating slider). Along with this would come the ability to update the file for either type of park.
I'm in the middle of something else right now with NLC, but I'll add it to my list. If anything, I can just add the ability to update park files now, and add the whole "type" functionality later. If you have any thoughts of suggestions on this please let me know!
As a side note, I was also going to add the ability to upload file attachments to comments on the forum, so instead of uploading things like models, scripts, contest parks, etc, to third party sites, they could simply be attached to comments. These of course would have much lower file size limits than what you could upload on the exchange. I talk about it a bit in this news post. That way, for example, you can contain all of your files in your tools thread. These would of course be searchable. So maybe that's a better alternative. Going this way, there doesn't necessarily have to be two types of parks on the exchange. I still do think there needs to be functionality to update park files on the exchange, but in this case instead of having two "types" where you can only rate one type, etc, there can just be options (i.e. to disable ratings).
I like the idea of attachments on posts, this could be very useful for sharing small files such as scripts and parks with just a layout. (Contests and events like track tennis and 5hop especially could use this to its advantage.)
I think the update functionality on its own would already help.
Of course this can be problematic with the whole rating system, since ratings for uploads that got updated could be outdated, so maybe it would be helpful, if one can also get notifications once a downloaded item got updated, with the option to update the ratings themselves.
I also like the idea of having special asset uploads that do not use the rating system that parks use.
I think the attachment option is also great option, but I think this would be more helpful for specific uploads, like when someone asks for a specialized modification, but not so much for a library of assets.
This reminds me of something that's been on my mind and probably could have mentioned it anytime. What about getting notifications for if your park gets a rating? Particularly if someone rates a park that has since fallen off the front page.

Was about to post that too. I think even the small Noteboks without Numpad have the Home button crammed in somewhere
