2018
This literally happens every year. Last year they wanted to shut the park at 4/4.30.
SeaWorld San Diego posted this to their Facebook page:

Electric Eel is essentially completed as far as trackwork goes. Now just waiting for the other BS. I've got to say, I honestly have no idea how the hell SeaWorld San Diego was able to get this approved with the cities height ordinance in place on the park. Nontheless I'm cautiously enthusiastic as there isn't one of these anywhere near me. Same goes for Hang Time, first Gerstlauer within a fortnight!
I found the sr2 to be a fantastic ride for its footprint, very intense airtime combined with lateral forces, as well as some great hangtime on the heartline roll, i imagine with a 3 car train these forces are amplified further still, cant comment on the comfort collars though as i have only ridden one without them.
The SR2 is a very fun model. I can't say how much the comfort collars affect the ride as compared to one without, but I have ridden tempesto.
The comfort collars did slow down ops, which is not good for a low-capacity ride like this. Also, the ride was shut down right as I was about to get on because they had to fix a comfort collar. Just my luck isn't it :)
I love how ironic the name "comfort collar" is. They are... not that. The only SR2 I've ridden is Tempesto, and even with the collars it was a very fun and intense ride.
I was just driving by San Diego Sea World the other day and saw that the trackwork was complete. It's a nice looking ride and definitely the tallest thing in the area. Hopefully I'll be back in California again sometime and can do a California theme park trip.
^^ Actually, the comfort collar is meant to prevent you from worst (whiplash, hips injury, etc), so from that point of view it makes sense...
Except I haven't heard about any problems with the restraints on the ones that don't have the comfort collar?
They don't have three cars neither. But you're right, my guess is that it's a request from the Sea World group for whatever reason.
It looks like something you'd buy from a walmart and build in your living room.
I love it.
^So true

I think it would be interesting to see if someone could do a three-car SRII without the comfort collars.
Looks like McDonalds themed.
Testing footage of Wicker Man
Looks horrible lmao
I really wanted to hold my judgement until I saw how it actually ran... But yeah, I agree.
^ Bear in mind it's a half-full train which crested the lift at 0.01mph, not to mention it's difficult to accurately judge how good a coaster is without riding it. Sometimes they can be surprising.
I still don't expect it to be amazing but I doubt it'll run that slow when it opens.
^Also it's winter. But still, that's REALLY slow
Also most likely running only soft wheels. In other words it is guaranteed to speed up significantly and everything that could slow it down is present in that run.
That's pretty slow but I bet it will speed up eventually. Sort of how storm chaser was crawling into the brakes when it first opened but now it's hauling :)
Dang missed it. Anyone have a copy or a mirror thats still up?
A bad layout is a bad layout no matter the wheels or the weight.
WORDS OF WISDOM.
And what is bad with this layout is: [fill the blank]

Lol, good job, Merlin. What else did they think the response would be?
