2018
Here's some POV shots of Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City. The drop in the back looks insane.
Looking at the first car vs. the others is showing how unpredictable this ride is going to be. I wish they would stop teasing us with clips and show us the full circuit.
Figured I'd bring this over here. Hyperion track & supports are on-site, and it's about to go vertical!

Not too sure how black on black colors will look on a ride this massive, but I imagine it'll be super sleek.
Personally I still think the new Intamin track looks ugly as sin, hopefully I'll warm up to it a bit.
It will probably look better when its all built up, but right now it does look a tad "flimsy" looking
Construction continues on RailBlazer:

Meanwhile Wonder Woman is almost complete!

And Hyperion finally went vertical!

Here's some photos of the new B&M mega and wing coasters at HotGo Park in China!

^That mega looks so good. Super happy another coaster has an ampersand. The wing also looks super cool as well!
That second pic is hot
Some pics of the new Gerstlauer Bobsled going up at Jardin D'Acclimation.

^ Someone who rather stay anonymous sent me the layout of that coaster and, as it has been laid off to the press, told me it was okay to post my NoLimits recreation.
Notes:
- The drawing was lacking a scale. I had to guess it using the track gauge. Might be off, mine appears a tad larger than the real one.
- Althought, the maximum height difference between the station and the top of the lift is correct: 11.5m.
- The layout from a top view is 100% correct, banking is aout good as well ; but other height differences are total guess (or based on pictures).
- Supports are accurate to the drawing. If some seem squished, that means my track is off.
So that give us a good idea of the ride, but don't take it for granted:

Second tire lift or launch:

The absence of any bunny hop is a pity, but otherwise the curves are nice and we might get some airtime on these transitions. Spot one 90° turn (the one on the real-life pictures above) after the second lift.
Kinda reminds me of a backyard coaster.
Idle speculation: I wonder if the *radius change at the top is to allow for the train to clear the brake fins that lead into the holding brake, which presumably stick up higher than the chain, and thus might require a wider radius for the train to clear them. I can't 100% make it out, but there are fins on the vertical section, and fins from the apex down to just before the drop, but it doesn't look like there are any on that tighter radius section.
Not a huge fan of the brake section yet. As of right now I really enjoyed B&M Divecoaster drops so I am interested to see how people will react to this considering the immense loss of height due to the long steep holding brake on Hangtime. On the other hand Gerstlauer would be forced to use shorter trains if they went with a short and curved holding brake like on B&Ms. Since Knott's is right inside LA I'd expect they did this because of capacity reasons.
^On the other hand I can image that riding in the last car will be quite fun.

I wouldn't say that's the right move. Seeing as Oblivion at Alton Towers is capable of 1800pph...
^ But Oblivion is a really short ride 8 across, so 16 people per train. Same as Hangtime with 4 cars of 4.
Emonadeo posted on December 26th, 2017considering the immense loss of height
Consider this as an extra height from a standard lift hill and drop combo, rather than a loss of height. Sure you go higher than needed, so you 'waste' some energy, but the following layout is designed from the lower drop.
Idk, I think it will make for a pretty cool "holy sh*t I'm gonna die" feeling. B&M dives make it feel great in the front row but kind of lack that feeling in the back, it'll be a nice change in pace to have the entire train trimmed while going down a 60 degree angle followed by a beyond vertical drop.
No, it’s a custom layout.

Post news and construction updates for new rides, coasters, and parks for 2018 here!
I'll start with the new prototype being built at Vekoma's factory. It's rumored to be a tilt coaster, a spinning coaster, or a water coaster, but who really knows at this point.
Found this on the r/rollercoasters reddit:
http://themeparkfreaks.eu/2017/12/breaking-energylandia-bevestigd-rmc-en-wil-ook-een-tilt-coaster-bouwen/
It sounds like Energylandia is due to receive a tilt coaster and a launched, inverting water coaster. That vekoma prototype track could be for either. :)
Also according to the article, they will be building a ground-up RMC hybrid and a mine train (Presumably Vekoma).
Translation of article:
First water coaster with inversions:
Unlikely news from the Polish amusement park Energylandia. The park has confirmed to have ordered an RMC rollercoaster by 2020 and has also submitted an application for a Tilt Coaster. These new roller coasters come on top of 4 other roller coasters that are already planned!
We keep saying it, but Energylandia is once again making us stifle with the new announcements they are making again. The amusement park has confirmed that the American roller coaster manufacturer Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) will build a hybrid roller coaster by 2020. The Dutch manufacturer Vekoma , who is the official distributor of RMC roller coasters in Europe and Asia and who has already completed several projects for the theme park, will ensure that the construction works in the right direction.
Hybrid roller coaster with inversions:
Energylandia submitted a public tender in early October in which the company was looking for a builder who could build a hybrid roller coaster, a roller coaster of world level.
The hybrid roller coaster should have a height of 60 meters and a speed between 110 and 115 km / h. The attraction must be at least 1300 meters long and a ride must last at least 110 seconds. And if that is not enough, Energylandia also wants the roller coaster to go over at least 3 times.
In the meantime, confirmation has been received that Rocky Mountain Construction 's proposal has won the public tender. It will be the second , the are of roller coaster RMC on European soil, and the 1 st hybrid roller coaster in the continent. The rollercoaster must be ready by 2020 and will be made with the so-called I-Box track.
First water coaster with inversions:
But that's not all. Energylandia will build a giant 50 meter high water coaster next year that will have to reach a speed of 110 km / h. The park also has plans for a second water coaster. They want a watercoaster with multiple launches, tunnels and inversions. Something that has never been built before.
The water coaster must contain at least 2 launches that will bring the visitors to a speed of at least 100 km / h. In addition, the roller coaster must have a minimum height of 35 meters and the track must be at least 1000 meters long. During the ride there must be at least 3 underground tunnels with a splash effect and the visitors must go over at least 5 times, an absolute world record.
It will not only be the first water coaster with inversions, but the roller coaster will also have 5 immediately, making it difficult to break the record in the future. It would also be the first watercoaster with 3 splash effects and the first watercoaster ever with 2 different launches (so no launch strip that is used multiple times). The rollercoaster must be ready by 2020.
Mine Train rollercoaster:
The Mine Train will become one of the largest Mine Train roller coasters in the world. Energylandia has submitted a public tender in which they are looking for a manufacturer who wants to build a large Mine Train.
The roller coaster must have a speed of at least 50 km / h and be at least 15 meters high. Over the course of more than 1200 meters there must be at least 3 lift hills. The ride can not last longer than 186 seconds, which is a bit more than 3 minutes. Children from 1 meter tall must be able to take place in the attraction. There must be at least 3 trains that must provide a capacity of 1300 persons per hour. The rollercoaster must be ready by 2020.
One of the best known builders for Mine Train roller coasters is the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma . They built Mine Train roller coasters such as Calamity Mine in Walibi Belgium (Belgium), Colorado Adventure in Phantasialand (Germany), Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland Paris (France) and Mammut in Gardaland (Italy).
Tilt Coaster:
As if all this was not enough, the Polish amusement park also asked for money for the construction of the first Tilt Coaster in Europe. The Tilt Coaster is an imaginative roller coaster that was built in 2002 in the Taiwan amusement park Lihpao Land. Gravity Max has a unique tilt track element where the track of horizontal position is rotated 90 degrees to vertical position. During this action, the rollercoaster train will be on the tilt track and visitors will see the depths right.
Year and day this remained the only tilt coaster in the world. Despite the great demand for more copies, the Dutch builder Vekoma decided not to build any more. It was not until 2016, 14 years after the opening of the first tilt coaster, that the Chinese roller coaster Golden Horse made an attempt to build a tilt coaster. This immediately became a dueling tilt coaster with two trains going into battle. The roller coaster was opened in the Chinese theme park Hefei Wanda Theme Park.
Who will build the tilt coaster in Energylandia has not yet been told. In spite of this, the chances are that the Vekoma will have a new generation with a new generation of tilt coaster. After all, Vekoma holds the patents on the tilt coaster, making it the only one in Europe that is allowed to build this element. In 2016 Vekoma told our editors that they were working on the development of a new generation tilt coaster. These plans were still at an early stage and then there was no concrete plan to build one. So it seems that this will change in the near future.
Its like Ankapark, but good!
Seriously gonna look into a trip here around 2020. RMC + Hyperion + Tilt Coaster, and Lech Coaster an hour away? YeS pLeAsE

I think the multi-launch water coaster sounds really cool as well. I think the prototype set up right now is probably for the tilt coaster as they talk about a "new-gen" tilt prototype.
