Prospect Park — 48 Hour Contest
is a custom transfer okay? ie gci having the double sided transfer track or mack family coasters/big one with the elevator station
does a transfer/storage count if it is functional or if it is representative of a custom transfer that, if possible in nl2, would be functional?
Not entirely sure what you mean by your comment, but yes, any transfer would be allowed so long as it is functional and able to operate in game.
Does the station count as storage?
^ same question
Tbh I wouldn't think so, but I don't run this place so idk
Yes!! The station counts as a storage. So if you have 3 trains, you need at least 2 storage tracks and 1 station.
We discussed this and it's more realistic in the way you described. I'm clarifying that in the rules now.
So would a station storage like this would be ok? !https://rcdb.com/1219.htm#p=7262
If you can make it fully functional in the simulator, then yes!
Will there be any early pics of the template?
i mean theres less than an hour, so i dont really see a point in that
Template is now live!! See the first post for the download link and submission form!
Post here, or message me, Freethebear, or Asianguruu on NLC or the Discord server if you have any questions.
Should the "classic/old" coaster have a layout that's similar to the things that werde build back then or can we be creativ with that and do a more modern layout?
I have decided to drop out but i will try to make a delphis jet coaster in the future that goes ontop and around the buildings. Plus have a ferris wheel ontop of the buildings.
^While we would prefer seeing classic trackwork styles, there is nothing in the rules that prevents you from making something more modern with one of the defined coaster types.
One thing to note:
Remind yourself that max length and height are maximums! We are not looking for the longest/tallest ride. Chasing those stats may cause you issues. Here are some examples of smaller thrill rides that fit the length requirement.
- Scorpion @ BGT (only 60 ft tall!)
- Corkscrew @ Cedar Point
- Carolina Cyclone
This is a really nice template. Super simple build area, but the surroundings are really well done. This is looking to be a lot of fun!
I take it that the ride can go above the metro station/tracks, but supports cannot go below the 'X' just over that section? Or can we use the platform for footers, using 'common sense'?
And what about under the metro, is that buildable area if we snake around the pillars?
Yes and no - you can build over and under the metro station and tracks! However, supports cannot cross into the metro's clearance envelope, so you will have to think of a creative way to keep supports in the park itself. We added that just to provide some extra wiggle room should someone need it.
Underneath the metro, it's just normal park land. So as long as you don't touch the station structure, you should be good to squeeze in some coaster track or a flat ride if possible.
We had a few questions come in, so I've added details to the rules to help clarify.
Changelog:
- Added clarification on tunnels. This was pretty vague, so my bad!
- No subterranean tunnels. All tunnels must not dig into the ground in any way to gain a height advantage.
- Tunnels can be enabled above ground for scenery/style purposes.
- Added clarification on additional coasters.
- Do not build any extra coasters, as they will be subject for removal when graded.
- We're doing this because with the third coaster not being defined by rules, it could be used to gain an advantage on overall park score. While that would be cool to see, we don't want to set the precedent for others that they need to build even more coasters in order to be competitive.
I would also like to point out:
- Coaster length is measured without storage! (For instance, this coaster would meet the requirement.) You can access this panel by going to Coaster Properties > Statistics > "Length of Track w/o storage".
Do the trees also count as foliage?
My progress.

It is for fun.
Do I have to name the coasters?
Just sent my entry to the Google Form. Are we and if yes when will we be allowed to publish the parks on NLC (or Steam)?
You're allowed to publish your park at any time, no worries on waiting for that.
For everyone else, this is your (almost) one hour notice! If you had issues with the Google Form, it's because I had to upgrade my storage lol. Should be resolved now.

So then any of the preset frictions is ok?
