NoLimits 2 - General Thread (News, Tips, Q&A)

Jetcoasterfan,
I think it has to do with the GCI announcement at IAAPA expo that they are introducing their own steel track design that looks comparable to the RMC box rails

So I've been trying to get a couple of corkscrews to be in line like they are on for example Corkscrew at Cedar Point and no matter the settings I've changed I can't seem to replicate it. Does anybody have any tips on how to best go about this?

Hey I've been having an issue when it comes to freezing roller coasters in the editor, it basically gets stuck on the creating tracks part of the freezing process over the last 2 days. It has never done this before for me and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this issue

Ride_Op, I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not, but since one of the updates recently I’ve had a bit of trouble with block brake violations in Terra. It’s been happening recently on three coasters, Fjallfall, Guardian, and Zephyre, and it seems to happen randomly. I’m not sure if a train has overshot a block for some reason, or if the block system has become more sensitive or what.

But most times now when I play the park I’ll get a notification pop up that there has been a block violation on one of the coasters.

^^ I downloaded the park and it's empty. There is a coaster called Spartan, but no track at all in the file. It's as if New Coaster was hit, the coaster named, and the file saved at that point without adding any vertices. Did you upload the correct file?

^ Hmmm, hard to track that down. I'm not aware of any changes made in that respect. Are you using any custom block scripting on those rides? Perhaps as soon as the pop up appears try to pause instantly and go fly over to see the offender?

Yeah, both Fjallfall and Guardian use scripting, and I believe it happens on Zephyre because it has a double station. Has there been a change in the way scripting works that would cause this?

In what way? It should work though you may have to adjust the height some.

I select it all click on define copy and then click paste and it doesn't appear. But if I select a smaller portion of it it works. Its not a ton of supports, not sure why its not working.

Do you perhaps have the track connectors selected as well? I think I remember that can prevent it from working and you should deselect them before copying.

Is it perhaps pasting on top of itself? Paste it and delete a node and see if it's still there.

Thanks for the tips. So it ended up being that the track connectors were selected. Which is weird as when I would copy and paste small sections a track connector was selected and copied as well. Interesting. I copied the whole arch and deselected the track connector and it copied and pasted perfectly. Thanks again for the help guys.

I dreamed last night that the RMC update came out. But it was 144mb is size and had the rmc iron horse, both sizes of rmc t rex and a bunch of weird flat rides. Plus a bunch of scenery.

I have a new dell G5 gaming desktop ordered now! Now i will be able to work on my 26.5 mile long jetcoaster! I want to make it 100 miles long next year! Plus add 80 more knockoff coasters to Jamp Up Land! Plus run the new RMC update even better.

I hope for a game update to have the ability to extend beams longer then 6.5 feet. Plus make custom beams wider than 6.5 feet. I hope for the ability to texture custom supports.

That would pretty much make it a built-in 3D modeler, but I don't think very many real-life coasters have textured supports. You'd also need to freeze it a bunch of times to make sure it looks right.

IKR. That seems like an arbitrary limit, tho there's probably technical reasons.

I read this from the devs on steam. "We won't make it until Christmas, it will get released most likely on January 10th. " Sounds like it should release on the games 5th anniversary.

And which stream was that?

It'll be released when it's done, no sooner. That will be on the it's finished day in the month of when it's ready in the year of we won't keep it a secret.
