^^^ This, and if you're section is on free-speed, make sure you're setting the geometric sections with respect to distance so you can keep the radii constant!

As a follow up try to avoid banking the track during a turn, jet coasters are usually designed so the track is very simple to manufacture. Banking and turning at the same time is complex to create compared to banking first then turning. that's why most jet coasters bank to the maximum turn angle before the turn starts, then holds that banking for the whole turn.

Think about it as if you have to make the track yourself with limited expertise and equipment, what would be the easiest way to do it.

This seems like a really dumb question, and I never used to have this problem (re-downloaded the program) but I can't seem to get the "transition editor" box to pop up when I'm working on a force section. Shouldn't it just come up automatically?

Is the + not appearing when you're hovering over the graphs?

Happens to me frequently enough. Sometimes selecting the anchor and then re-selecting the force or geometric section you want to modify will do the trick.

The + does appear when I hover over the graphs.

Selecting the anchor and then re-selecting the force didn't do the trick either. This is version .79 if that makes any difference.

the transition editor tab will only appear when you've selected a specific graph to manipulate with the section

also, taking a second look at your screenshot, you might have to either a) use the scroll wheel when hovering over the graphs to zoom out the graph; or b) left-click and drag the graphs to the left until you see the section you want to manipulate

in my last response i may have been directionally challenged and meant drag right not left.

if i'm looking at that right, the sections i see are the station, another straight section (feeder?), the lift pull up, and the lift middle (and let me know if i'm completely wrong), so my best guess is that the graph you want to be manipulating (force section after the top of the lift) is off-screen, all the way to the right

notice how the section you're currently working with will not have that bluish/greyish shading?

hope i'm helping

That did the trick.

Thanks a lot for your help man! Again, I figured it was something really obvious / simple that I just wasn't doing... but I've used this program before and this didn't happen haha.

all good

i often have similar problems, specifically when adding on new sections -- sometimes the graphs just disappear, but usually selecting the anchor will "reset" the graphs.

it's also worth nothing that when you select the anchor, the graph appears to "reset to zero", so to speak, so if you're working on later sections you'll have to zoom or drag the graphs to locate the section you want to manipulate

What do you mean by "decides to change the layout on its own", specifically? Could you provide a screenshot?
