Seaside Screamer III Contest - Winner Announced & Writeups Cancelled
I've been working on NL recreations for a documentary and have been wanting a slight break from that so this sounds like a good contest to enter. Why not count me in!
Gonna make a Wicker Man clone
Sounds like a lot of fun, count me in.
I'll probably enter. May or may not be able to actually finish an entry though, depending on work.
Same, it will be the worst comeback you could ask for though
Count me in! Just to clarify I do not need to add any kind of scenery for this correct? Just the coaster and supports?
The chances of me having something ready to submit are about as likely as Martians landing on Earth, but I'll see if I can get something put together.

yes, its just a coaster and supports. If people want to make a simple station platform for their ride and add in some of the NL2 fences to the area they can if they want to
Count me in! Looks like a nice contest.
Me too, sounds interesting!
I'll probably enter
I'm not final about entering. I am considering it though.
I will try and give up.
I'll give it a good college try, but I'll be in a different hemisphere next spring so I might not have as much time as I want
Sounds fun, I'll give it a go!
One question: What do you mean by "base frame
supports"?
It means the ride does not use footers and instead uses a base frame. You can see it on these two rides:

Paradox is correct, it will be explained more in the next post when we release the template
No scenery means that I might actually compete! My NL2 skills are extremely dusty though... we'll see how this goes...
Fun question: Are there boardwalk/pier coasters which have footers in the water/sand? (Probably not).
Also, I might enter but it depends on my schedule next year whether I can participate. (B&M with base framework incoming. I always wanted a B&M on a boardwalk)
I probably will not win, but count me in for sure! I love competitions where I have certain pace to work with.

Announcing the first NLC Contest
Its almost a year since the last seaside screamer contest, and a few months back I decided to start working on a template for the third and most likely final edition of the contest. The response to the previous two was incredible, and multiple entries were submitted for them, so hopefully this one will be as (if not more ) successful!
With this contest I wanted to create a park template that takes inspiration from a small amusement park in the UK called Clarence Pier. The park isnt anything too special, but I thought with some tweaking it would make for an interesting template
Apart from the template being a lot larger than the real Clarence Pier, the main addition is a large Pier stretching out into the ocean and sporting an observation tower at the end. The main reason it has been added in was to give some challenges for people when it comes to adding the ride supports. Because its a pier and effectively over the water, pouring concrete footers would not really be a possibility. This means that you will have to create a base frame structure (This will be explained more in detail in the ride criteria section)
The Competition Briefing
The park has recently constructed a brand new pier onto their park, and want to turn it into a national icon by adding a roller coaster to the park that utilises it, and even interacts with the observation tower thats at the very end of the pier. To reach the pier, the ride has to traverse over the existing park pathways and rides and avoid going below a minimum height limit in the designated areas. They have removed their mini golf complex to make room for the roller coaster's start point, and have also marked out an area in the park that can be used for low sections of the coaster
