The Official Scripting Ask Thread
I did send u an PM (White envelope on the right upper corner)
Is it possible to get the JetPulse Camera Script to track a target like the In-Built Track Camera? Because I would like to do some shots of a static target but want the camera to change it's speed
Hey, I'm looking for a script that can help me attach a custom coaster car to a wire-frame. But my custom car has not the same spacing between the two axles comparing to any NL2 in-game coaster style. Is there any script allowing such a thing?
Hi AceDFe19, maybe i can help.
I think u can use the Base Offset settings(inside the game in the SCO editor) to match your model to the desired spacing.

Thanks for your answer MrRC but I think the movement of the axle won't be right. I mean the center of rotation of the axle won't be the real center of rotation of the custom car. It will be the center of rotation of the wireframe right?
U can send me the Packaged file of your park to svhas2004@home.nl and i will look into it.
Sure I will! Thanks
When you want to attach to ingame trains you have to stick to their axle distances unfortunately. When this doesn't work you have make a script on your own that requests for example positions along the track and the speed of a "reference" train in order to calculate and set the positions and angles between cars. As far as I know, that was only done before by bestdani as a proof-of-concept which is avaible somewhere on NLC discord and RKRides (which is unpublished). Allegedly Codemaster is also working on a script based on bestdani's but given the current situation you have to either script it yourself of modify someone elses

The easiest way for you to do this is probably going to be to use a dummy coaster that doesn’t move, bury the dummy under your intended target, and then just apply an offset so that the camera looks at a higher location (your intended target). To make the camera look higher, add the following line after line 121:
TargetPos.y += 20.0f;
where you can replace 20.0 with the vertical offset distance (in meters) between the dummy train and your intended target.
There’s more elegant solutions, but they require more changes to the code/process.

Thanks for your answer Imaginaut. So at the moment, the script is just experimental and doesn't really exists sadly, right?
Yes. Although bestdani uploaded his script to NLC discord, so you could take a look at it. Depending on what exactly it should be used for it could be applied already with only minor changes, especially when you only run one train and all bogies are the same distance apart.

I'll run a wild mouse style coaster so several cars. No trains.
Does anyone have a download link of fountain effect or splash effect like Manta? (No Steam workshop)
Thanks in advance!

Erg bedankt zoals altijd!
Graag gedaan. U welcome.
Als ik moet helpen met aanpassen, dan stuur je maar een PM.
If u need any help with modificating the script, send me an PM.
Hi I'm having trouble with figuring out onboard audio. I tried to start and end the trigger and it won't work so the option was that I named it but still had the same problem. Do you have any suggestions.
Any progress with your problem ? Or do u still need help ?
I'm currently looking for some help with updating a script I'm using for Terra for some of the water rides etc.
Previously I've used a script that allows me to attach an object to a car, and then have one POV camera (position is currently decided in the script). This is what I've used so far for the water rides in game. But I'm looking to be able to update this to having multiple cameras, rather than just the one, and to be able to cycle through them in a similar fashion to how the in-sim coasters do.
I've had some success pairing an attach object script with bestdani's Ride Camera Script, however the only issue is that the "press E to enter XYZ" remains static, at the objects origin, rather than following the object around. Meaning I can't fly to the nearest car to enter it etc. Is there a simple way to change this?
This function is already built into the script and can be activated at the the top of the script changing its configuration:

so just change line 28 from
private static final bool UPDATE_ENTER_POSITION = false;
to
private static final bool UPDATE_ENTER_POSITION = true;

Ah perfect! I hadn't noticed that you'd updated the file, and was working off an older version.
I'm using scripts to explore sound in No Limits (I'm more of a sound artist than a roller coaster designer... long story).
I was wondering if anyone can think of a way to script so that a sound file doesn't play from the beginning but rather from another arbitrary point. From what I can see in the scripting classes it doesn't look possible, but I'm all ears if anyone can think of anything...
@postyork
I don't think that's not possible. I have more than FIVE years of experience with scripting.
Hey guys, I'd like to know if it's possible to do a turntable switch just like on Fury at Bobbejaanland or Mystic at Walibi Rhone-Alpes?

So I need some help. I'm a complete noob at scripting, and have no idea how to even use the script generator. and I need a script for something like Soaring with Dragon, a triple launch intamin. So if anyone could help me out I would be eternally grateful, lol.
