Tried making a different coaster and to use a trigger to change a switch, but I get the same error.
public void onTrainEntering(TrackTrigger trigger, Train train) {
if (trigger == switchTrigger) {
transferSwitchOne.setSwitchDirection(0);
}
}
Error in File 'Coaster04.nlvm' in Line 38, Column 13: Unknown type: transferSwitchOne
Error in File 'Coaster04.nlvm' in Line 38, Column 13: Unknown symbol 'transferSwitchOne'
It seems to me like it's a problem with onTrainEntering rather than what I try to execute within it. Appreciate any help.
Hi,
Is there a way to place or copy a SceneryObject using a script? E.g. to automatically place custom track devices.

Yeah! Although I'm not too fancy with the scripting language, but I'm sure someone else could help. Many scripts that attach stuff to the tracks and whatnot are in other custom assets. Snooping around those assets will 100% help you in achieving what you are trying to do. My suggestion is to find an asset that fits your need, take the script from that asset, modify it to work with yours (majority of the modification is just changing the name from the original asset name to your asset name in the script), and then tweak if necessary.

U can acces these files outside the NL2 program , by going to the HELP folder in your installationfolder of NL2. (as HTML)
Hi,
I'm building a script where I want to use the "onLateUpdate()" method. However, whatever I try, the method is never called. Does anyone have any experience with this? The other, similar methods, do work fine (onInit(), onLateInit() and onNextFrame()).
Am I overseeing something? See below a sample script.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Edit 09-June-2025 @ 12:40:
Oversight from my side: onLateUpdate() does not take any arguments. In my original code I wrote onLateUpdate(float tick). The argument float tick should not be in there. Call works fine now.
import com.nolimitscoaster.*;
import nlvm.lang.*;
public class onLateTest extends Script {
public bool onInit() {
System.err.println("onInit triggered");
return true;
}
public bool onLateInit() {
System.err.println("onLateInit triggered");
return true;
}
public void onNextFrame(float tick) {
System.err.println("onNextFrame triggered");
}
// This call is wrong, onLateUpdate does not take arguments.
public void onLateUpdate(float tick) {
System.err.println("onLateUpdate triggered");
}
// This call is correct.
public void onLateUpdate() {
System.err.println("onLateUpdate triggered");
}
}
Ì'm trying to do my first ever scripted coaster so this question is very basic, but i cant manage to get a file to edit, im using a no limits script generator but i cant find a way to add a file to be able to script in both no limits and in the script generator, how can i create a file so that i can start scripting?
U need Notepad ++ to modify your script.
When u save the script make sure the extension is Java !!

Does anyone have the files and instructions for JetPulse's Camera Script?

Hello. I'm currently making my second ever coaster and I want to have a part where the train rolls into some breaks, after which a switch changes the track, and the train gets launched out of the brakes backwards, up a spike, and then rolls back through the brakes and exits forwards. I have tried the Custom Block Logic Builder by bestdani (I think), but it complains that I only have one direction change, and refuses to execute. Thus, I have watched the YouTube tutorials by bestdani and made a small script using the blockhelper package, but when I use its .LeaveModeLaunchBwd() method, as soon as the train goes through the brakes the second time it gets slowed down and launch back up the spike again. Thus, I'm now trying to turn off the brakes before it goes back through them using a trigger.
public void onTrainEntering(TrackTrigger trigger, Train train) { if (trigger == enterTrigger) { brakeBlock_trigger.getSection().setBrakesOff(); } }Every time I try to run my script it gives me an error:
Error in File 'Coaster2_2.nlvm' in Line 53, Column 13: Unknown type: brakeBlock_trigger
Error in File 'Coaster2_2.nlvm' in Line 53, Column 13: Unknown symbol 'brakeBlock_trigger'
I am unsure what this means in the context of this script and would like to get a second opinion or a helping hand. I can provide more snippets from my script (or I can try to upload it to something like PasteBin) should the need arise. Thanks for reading.
