Screen Shot Saturday Madness! - Gallery Posted 12/12/2020

TORI by myself made for the Metro Contest.

Been a long time since our last gallery. There's some good stuff in here, and some items that need some better angles of otherwise interesting work.
Darksludge: The focus of your screen is the station building. It's a nice station, but you can't see much of the coaster behind it, which is what should get a bit more attention to overall show us what your ride is about.
UtahCoasterEnth: Lots of feedback. Lagoon's 1912 roller coaster is a screen of the roof and roof supports. It's not focused at all on the coaster, which is just kind of there in the background. The roof just ends up a giant gray triangle with some red triangles holding it up. Nice abstract art, but not a coaster screen shot. If you want to use the station to frame the coaster, choose an angle where the station structure is around the edges of the screen and the subject of the screen (the coaster) is featured inside.
The focus of the next one of Roller Coaster is the black fence in front. It's taken at such an angle that the black fence obscures the coaster and ends up drawing your attention. Ground level shots are great, but if you have something in the way like that it doesn't work that well, especially if it's so distracting.
Of the next batch of 4 shots, the one in the station with the colorful roof is probably the best. Now the station building is used as a frame, and the subject moves to being the inside of the station and the train. The loading gates still take up a lot of the frame and aren't as interesting, but this is a better example of how to use the station structure to frame other things. The screens from the parking lot are a bit distant, are mostly sky, and the cars distract some.
Tyrush: There's a lot of rock in that picture which isn't quite that interesting. It didn't grab me, although it's an otherwise well framed shot with the train coming into the picture from one of the corners. Good action, just perhaps a different angle?

The big helix belongs to Mr. Twister. The out and back is Wildcat.
Is screen shot Saturday still happening? It's been a few months.
My recreation of Cedar Point's Cyclone, one of the park's first major coasters. It opened in 1929.

Entering this for the next one, The Smiler remaster by me.

That looks fantastic, the dueling element really came out nicely. The supports feel very "Maurer" too

My recreation of Coaster Dips at Glen Echo Park. It operated from 1921 to 1968.
The 85-foot drop into the ravine:

I think this double-down into the ravine was the better drop:

My wooden coaster.

Thanks to the guys in WDYJDNL thread for the screenshot advice. This game can look really beautiful with the right environment.

Little question: is there someone here who is good in making cartextures and/or a themed nose for this train and wants to help me out?
