Confused by the g-force comb's results

I have a drop curve with a 30 foot radius. The top speed is 36.926 mph and the banking is 19.7989 degrees. Now, the NoLimits g-force comb says that the maximum lateral force on that bent is 1.7 g. By my calculation it should be generating around 3 lateral gs. Is the g-force comb wrong or is my maths a bit off?

I am pretty sure the G-Force Comb Within the NoLimits 2 editor isn't completely accurate. At least with my experience it's not. The best thing to do is to bring up the simulation tab while riding the coaster to see the G-Forces.

Building this out in the sim yields quite different results. 1.7 vert g's and 0.7 lateral. Not sure what math you've done, but this seems to be quite the dynamics problem. Haven't played with that math for a minute, so I'll just go with what the sim spat out for now.

The speed comb is usually pretty good, except at very low speeds, and the g-force comb is often unreliable. The g-force comb can't capture the length of the train in it's current state, so even if the force prediction was better, it still wouldn't give a full enough picture for most roller coasters.

If you do the math CF=mv²/2 you find with a 30’ radius, a velocity of 37 mi/hr, and banked at 19°, you end up with a horizontal component force of 3.15 Gs, a resultant force on the structure of 3.15 Gs at 70.5° from plumb, a vertical seat force of 1.968 Gs and a lateral seat force of 2.479 Gs.

NL2 comes up very short. Anyone know why?
