The "What Did You Just Do In NoLimits" Thread
Oh nice. Good work Code.
I'm not even Sorry to be the only one honest here.
Code, that Custom Track is not looking good.
^ I think it's more about the custom 3d chain he seems to have going on there, not the track.

Oh geez, what have I done?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTru7kYdUzg this model right? its a concept a guy came up with for a B&M 4D coaster with a rail in the center of the track with a cog system that makes the seats spin. the guy was around for like a month and tried to make a big deal out of it but everyone realized he was just a kid with decent model making skills and not actually a coaster designer. still a cool idea though
^Precisely. Made a NL1 version of that using the 'camera on the side of the car' method, which doesn't take G-forces and clearance into account.
^^ You're mixing up two things here Brett. I remember that other concept you're talking about, but that was another model and for the heck of me I can't find a video... I think it was erased from the surface of the Internet, ha.

Okay, sure... Why not? What exactly is so wrong with it that it deserves to be described as "not looking good"?
I finished this up if anyone is interested. POV

Do I really have to say this? :D
Wow...
Start with the Textures, very low Resolution, looking like I don't know, I wouldn't ride a Coaster if it's Track looked like this...
It's extremely low Detail.
I'm mean working low-poly is greatly okay, but low detail, hell no...
If the original NL2 Tracks and Textures look better, you're doing something wrong here...
Do I need to add more?

That's low-res to you? The pixel density is quite high here.
Also: I don't know about you, but this "I wouldn't ride a coaster with this track" might actually be what he was going for.
The only thing I can complain about is the texture inconsistency. The rails are dirty and look poorly maintained, while the chain and anti-rollback device are much cleaner. But both are certainly not lacking detail in any way.
And no, you don't need to add more. Our opinions are already very different, there's no need to write page after page just because of custom rails.
Just to interject here, the track was kind of supposed to look really bad, rusted and oily, but i've since changed it to look brand new.
to clarify, the track looked bad from a modelling perspective, not from a realistic perspective. It's ok to make the track look worn down and rusted, but often that would require more work making sure rust is only where it should be realistically and using the right textures. Your track looked like it was badly modeled because you used low resolution and misplaced textures, not because it sat in water for 10 years or something. It didn't look rusted and oily, it looks like you used the wrong texture file. 2 very different ways of looking bad.

[Video of a rad Mack hyper]
Really enjoyed this. Beautiful work on the scenery and surroundings! The ride itself felt very Mack-y and was super fun. Especially liked the terrain-assisted Norwegian loop at the end, and the double-rolling turnaround at the far end of the out & back section. Seriously nice work.

Trick track is a bit wild.

This was a lot of work.
I am looking for suggestions for the video. Should I do it in black and white? Color? Both like Cyclone Racer?
@BBSpeed26
Thanks! I appreciate that quite a bit. It was a fun ride to work on, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Glad you liked it as well!
The Bat Coaster Revised!
This batcoaster has cool invisable track parts :-)
Pretty sure there would be less headbanging on a knock-off of a knock-off SLC. That park looks soo cluttered, and somehow that adds to the artistic appeal.
I have been redoing the 2 current helix supports to look better.

I finished it! My recreation of Steel Dragon 2000 :D
My improved layout.

Nice job! I love the accuracy of the supports and the two chains. How did you do the chains like that?
A word of advice: When making POV videos, turn off depth of field. It's distracting and confusing.
^^^I love it, man! It looks extremely polished and well done. I even decided to put it head-to-head with the real thing and see how they compared. Yours fell a little behind starting at the twister section, but other than that it's brilliant. The trackwork is just spot on.

Omg, that looks so cool! Did you use my 3ds max tool to create the track?
