The "What Did You Just Do In NoLimits" Thread
Looking good, however the path space looks a bit empty right now
^Thanks, I intend to fill that empty space with a variety of supports, flats, planters, maybe a food court here or there...
I don't know if this has any practical consequences or if that might be useful somehow, but a discussion just make me discovering that one can build two or even more separate coaster circuits of the same type in NL2 by just using a single coaster.
^ If you're saying what I think you are, that's how I built Cyclone Racer.
My first attempt at an older B&M hyper coaster!!
That's a great layout. There were a couple of sections where the strict nodes were visible, some excessive laterals in the second half mostly (on the turns), and the ending felt a bit too snappy with the transitions and airtime for a classic B&M. I do like the concept though.
Started making some modular track sections for my future coasters, Currently making the LSM launch track, this consists of 3 sections each 5m in length. The middle section can be stacked multiple times to create any length of launch from 15m onwards.
The track pieces are made to blend as seamlessly as possible into the intamin rocket trackstyle. I eventually plan to have sections for all types of storage/stations/transports/brakes etc..
^ That looks amazing!!
^^looks awesome !
It actually made me sad to see amazing things like this being made, but that'll never be properly implemented within NL2.
But yeah, great job!
Since these look brilliant, I'm wondering what you mean by having them more properly implemented in NL2? These are very specific objects for specific needs I think it would not help distributing such community made objects with the program itself, provided that these will be made available for download, will they?
Launch mechanisms, specific objets? Granted Element 115's one might be a custom design for his creations only, but some generic Intamin LSM (and others) would be widely used. In fact, as much as lift chains.
Beside a few styles (Intamin Impulse, Mack Launch and Premier LIM), we've been launching our trains with brakes since 2001.
Even if available for download, you'd need to implement that on your coaster via a script, and as for each custom thing, it's yet another procedure you got to remember. For instance, Code's RMC tracks + crossties ; CTRs ; custom track designs, etc. All come with their own installation procedure. That's what I mean by not properly implemented in NL2, or native.
Code does have some new gen Intamin brakes and LSM fins that are actually quite easy to use.
^I agree that there should be more options for launches built in-game. Considering how much NL2 is based on realism, it has always suprised me that the LSM options for most styles are just brakes
Hi, I'm here to dial down the detail a bit. I'm hoping the level of detail from this site rubs off.

I'm working on Pineapple Kush and Mob boss. It's a park for the older crowd, so why not add a bar and grill?

Grill's ready. Time to put the meat on.
Once these coaster areas are done, that will be 6 down and 5 to go.

^^ I just realized that's RMC i305. Thought that layout looked familiar :)
Those modular track pieces look insane! It's a shame something like them didn't come with NL2 itself
But I305 is a steel coaster, not a terribly aged woodie, right?
I don't think codemaster is okay.

An unsuccessful attempt at Silver Star. I messed up the ending :(
You think these B&M Dive Machine brakes look weird? They are all slanted funny.

Finally making some progress on this ride. The idea is to put the station and parts of the layout below the ground/path level. This is also the first of my projects with extensive use of 3D objects, so I've been using it to learn modeling.
(the white spline along the track is a guide to help me create the model.)
