Totally awesome!

EDIT: Walibi director actually explained they chose RMC because fans of themeparks in Europe want a RMC. The ride will be faster and get a new theme + name. Coming September the transformation will start and the ride will probably open at 1 July 2019.

Nope, they made Loup-Garou as well... wich will also get the RMC treatment in a few years apparently. Same with Tonnerre de Zeus. The Compagnie des Alpes wants to renew all their wooden coasters.

Ah, my mistake. Has anyone here experienced them? How do they ride? Vekoma's past dip into the world of wooden coasters has always fascinated me.

^^Thundercoaster can be amazing, but after they got the new Timberliner trains it's very rough in the sections that have not been retracted yet. When they retrack those sections it will be amazing again :D

Robin Hood has a pretty good layout and good airtimes for a wooden coaster but it shakes and hurts alot. Also, the lap bars are not that comfortable...

I hope it will be! During my last visits to Tusenfryd in 2015 and 2016 it has been terrible.

As for Robin Hood, I didn't really have that much of a problem with roughness when I rode it in 2016, but the lapbar tightened during the ride and that was very uncomfortable.

It's such a shame because in 2014 it was running fantastic! The new Timberliners really ruined the ride...

I'm not really sure Thundercoaster is a Vekoma tho. RCDB says Designer: Allott and Lomax
Installer: Martin & Vleminckx
. The original trains might be provided by Vekoma, but only that.

I rode them all, I liked their layouts. I had a great ride on Robin Hood (but that must have been exceptional) and decent rides on Loup Garo (althought the lap-bar was hurting my tights on the inal brakes). Thundercoaster on the other hand has a wonderful terrain layout, but is awful to ride. I think the GravityKraft trains made it actually worse - or anyways not better. They shake like crazy at various points it's almost dangerous. Heck, the first row was condemned and I'm sure it's linked to the shakyness.

^You're correct, Thundercoaster is not a "proper" Vekoma woodie. I don't really know how much Vekoma was involved with the construction of Thundercoaster. Obviously they supplied the trains and maybe some of the other technical stuff, but other than that I'm not really sure how much they were involved.

Unfortunately I don't think the new trains has done the ride any favors. I think that due to the short cars, they might become more vulnerable to imperfections in the track compared to the old 3-bench cars.

I like the ride, yes it's rough but I love a bit roughness but to some it's way to rough. (BTW I've ridden it over a hundred times because I work at Walibi Holland and the excitement is real that I can possibly become the operator of the first RMC I-box of europe :D)

The first years Robin Hood was a very good woodie imo. The problem I think is that the Vekoma trains are 6 seats and also very heavy, hence the added roughness. Some years ago they also changed the restraints which have tighten a lot during the ride. That change made the coaster a sort of no-go for me. I think that GCI with thei MF trains might also have been able to fix it though. I do prefer the RMC method though. I'm also wondering if they are going to add many inversions. Currently the park has 5 mayor rides of which only 2 are inversionless. Adding inversions to Robin hood might not be my favorite idea.

Bobbejaanland is getting a triple launch Gerstlauer Infinity:

The park announced the ride as "the fastest, tallest, steepest triple launch coaster with the most inversions in the Benelux" (beat that, Merlin) and it will be the most expensive ride the park has built.

It will be the highlight of a new land in the park, which will also include existing rides Typhoon (Gerstlauer Eurofighter) and Sledgehammer (Huss Giant Frisbee).
