The Planet Coaster Thread

26 to 46 of 46

I've made yet another attempt at squinching, this time with the help of Joseph "JB" -as he is now called- and his After Effect magic.

Alas the screen stutters at some points, I don't know if I can really do anything (the movie works fine if played alone, but once it's sync with the ride it does that), but the concept is proven!

Truly a very neat effect, I never would have thought to try to attempt something like this. What exactly is squinching?

Tim it looks really nice. Good use of the adventure pieces.

It's cool to see some of the NL2 creators really build stuff in Planet Coaster

^^I can relate to that. Haven't opened PC in days to avoid facing my barely-started Big Thunder Mountain-esque mine train coaster in my park. I think I bit off a bit more than I can chew after binge-watching Silvarret's vids, no clue how to realize the vague idea I see in my head.

Perfect tutorial, I understand well now. Could you please point me in the right direction of an After Effects tutorial on "flattening" the recorded video?

I used this tutorial from the Creative Cow forums at: https://forums.creativecow.net/docs/forums/post.php?forumid=2&postid=1033706&univpostid=1033706&pview=t

"1. Apply CC Power Pin to the layer you want to undistort.
2. Check "unstretch," and turn the effect off.
3. Align your four corner points with the distorted image.
4. Turn the effect back on.
5. KABLAMO! The distorted image is now rectangular and fills your comp."

Now, here's some more because that's only one piece of the puzzle.

The trick here is that you aren't doing this for a static image, so you'll have to repeat that process as an animation. Then once you're done, pre-comp that section with the CC Power Pin animation, and apply the Warp Stabilizer effect onto that precomp, which removes the imperfections from your CCPP animation.

It's also worth noting that this same method could be used for NoLimits

Hopefully someone can answer this..
Is it possible to create and import your own custom 3d scenery etc into Planet Coaster?

Just wondering..

No. Not yet, anyway (but it would render the DLC partially redundant so maybe they've just given up on the idea entirely).

Those are absolutely incredible! The detail is phenomenal. Glancing at your screenshot without reading the post, I thought the game had received a flat ride update, or at least 3D model support. A+!

SKYCOASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes ive wanted to have one of those in a park for ages.

EDIT: oof, didnt notice this was the PC thread haha. great work regardless.

^^That looks seriously good. I love it!

Some of you all have probably already seen this elsewhere, but I figured I'd go ahead and post the final video for Fallen Rocks in case you haven't.
