New Beginnings

With the launch of NLC and the deletion of my old thread, I figured I'd start up a fresh new thread here. Since I can't seem to stop creating new projects, I'll go over all 11 of my current WIP coasters. If you'd like, feel free to give me an idea of which projects you would like to see sooner rather than later so I know what to devote more attention to. I'll order each ride by how complete they are from least to most complete. Let's begin:

1. Intamin Launched Lift Concept

This is the least complete of my projects at the moment. The idea here is that the lift hill is a two segment launch. The bottom half launching at 20 mph and the top half accelerating the train to 40 mph before the crest. The train carries a lot of speed so the non inverting loop had to be quite large. My hopes for this ride are to flesh it out into a kind of, fast paced, I305 style of ride.

2. Compact Park

This idea takes inspiration from Grona Lund and it's crazy compact nature. Right now there isn't much to the park besides one wooden coaster and some flats, but eventually I'd like to build the park out to a jam packed park of different rides.

3. RMC Hyper

In preparation for the eventual RMC update for NL2, I decided to go ahead and get prepared. Drawing inspiration from Goliath at SFGAm and Steel Vengeance, I created a hyper RMC Topper Track layout. At this point, the project is shelved and waiting for the day the update comes around.

4. Intamin Prefab Hyper

Wanting to make a plausible, truly wooden, hyper coaster, I designed a large Intamin Prefab Woodie seeing as I feel that it would be the most plausible way to break the 200 ft barrier with wood again. If this coaster were built, it would be the tallest and steepest (full circuit) wood coaster. I also decided to undertake the massive task of custom supporting the coaster according to real world examples. At the current moment, the coaster is about halfway supported.

5. B&M Strata

There was a time when a handful of people on YouTube were uploading poorly done versions of what a B&M strata coaster might look like. Fed up with seeing mediocre quality rides, I decided to design my own. At 420 ft tall and 9,142 ft long, this coaster is no joke. Although technically feasible, the cost might not be at an estimated $50 million. Regardless, I had a good time designing this beast of a ride.

6. Custom Coaster

Wanting to create a coaster without the restrictions of a real world manufacturer, I designed a coaster and added whatever I felt like to the layout. In reality, this coaster would be similar to the RMC TRex concept with a compact layout filled with intense elements. I also plan to model some custom trains for the ride which are also a work in progress and will be revealed at a later date.

7. B&M Flyer

After watching the construction of Flying Dinosaur at Universal Studios Japan, I became inspired to design a hyper B&M flyer. This resulted in a 220 ft flying coaster with all the classic flyer elements. At the moment, the track and supports are complete along with a few scenery elements.

8. Stingray - B&M Hyper

This coaster design actually started from the brake run. I had an idea to create a B&M hyper with the same style of brake run as Fury 325. Taking some more inspiration from Fury and incorporating it into a hyper coaster size I included a 90 degree stall and speed turns. The setting for this ride is in a tropical island locale. The coaster is situated over two small islands surrounded by water. The island also has a resort hotel and a cruise ship port. The park even comes complete with a cruise ship that slowly circles the islands.

9. Project "Pile 'o' Rocks"

I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I was designing this ride. I think I wanted to take a crack at designing a ride with a lot of extensive theming. I also had a unique idea for a split loading station I wanted to test out. This ride is definitely an oddball using Premier LIM Trains and no clear manufacturer. There are also a couple other surprise elements to the ride that I'll wait until the future (or maybe not until release) to reveal. Please note, the rocky scenery is very much work in progress.

10. Carowinds Intamin Blitz

After Carowinds removed their splash boat ride, I decided to take the opportunity to shove a coaster into the open plot of land and implement a concept idea I had at the same time. This blitz is unique in the fact that it has a vertical launch top hat. The coaster also has a second, underground, launch into a standard top hat. The coaster is built into a concrete pit and includes many intense and fast paced elements including an ascending heartline roll.

11. B&M Park - A Collaboration with Milbee

This ambitious project was born one day while I was watching a Twitch stream by Milbee. He told me that there was a park that he had shelved a long time ago that was collecting virtual dust on his drive. I volunteered to take the park and breathe new life into it so it wouldn't be wasted. Fast forward a year or so later and this is what the park looks like now. I have kept busy adding many small park details and stations for each ride. The park consists of three B&M coasters: A dive coaster named Raven, a hyper coaster named Electric Eel (Pre Sea World), and an unnamed wing coaster. This project is what I'd consider the most complete of the WIP projects I have going. With some more scenery work for the wing coaster and some additional paths, this park will be finished.

That does it for the update on my WIP projects. As always, I'm open to any suggestions and critiques and if there is a particular project you would like to see more of, feel free to post that here.

As a side note, the three parks I entered into the 2017 NL2 Tournament will be available on the exchange soon.

Glad to see you bring this thread over to this site. As for the projects they all look absolutely stunning just make sure you dont bite off more than you can chew or youll get burnt out on working on so many projects as one. I'm mostly excited to see the B&M Strata and then projects 9-11. Keep up the work!
