NLE Has been shut down indefinitely.
RIP nle. It's amazing to see it close down after all these years as it was part of my childhood.
I really hope it's not all gone as there were some legendary NL1 tracks on there (Gaia, Outpost 7, etc.)

It’s all gone unfortunately. I was looking for some environment files and was not able to even access the site

I would love to see remastered versions of Gaia, Colder Fusion, and Evenoss.
NLE being shut down was not the first thing I wanted to hear this morning, but we all knew it was waiting to happen. However dysfunctional NLE was, it was a big part of all of our lives, and I am very disappointed than all of the great tracks and forum posts that were uploaded over the years were lost. I hope that something can still be worked out with Matt to possibly get them all back
^ Yeah. I wish many of the files uploaded there could be retrieved and maybe posted here as there were many rides and kits that may be lost forever.
I think this site is a worthy successor, as it is already a lot more user-friendly than NLE ever was, however it is very sad to see a long-standing part of the NL and NL2 community gone forever.
I also wish he gave us some warning so at the very least we could grab all the files and upload them here, but one moment the site was up, the next we could no longer access it :(
I'm working on archiving all of the important resources from the forums using Wayback, and surprisingly almost all of the information is still there, so not all is lost. It's mostly just the old tracks that we have no good way of recovering
We already have a discussion for this here.

Since NLE is officially shut down, I'd assume many will be transferring to here (It seems like NLE mk.2 to me)
