Coaster won't dispatch

1 to 8 of 8

I have been playing NL2 for over 2 weeks now and already made some nice coasters. Most of them dispatched right when i pressed play. But there are 2 Black sheep in the flock and they refuse to auto dispatch even not on manual. I can only run them on full manual which is quite irritating because the pannel is in the view of the coaster. I know someone on this site know the answer to my questin so thats why i ask about it. The only clue to why it might happen lays in the control panel itself. If i want to manual dispatch and make the train go fwd out o the station it says waiting for clear block. Does this have annything to do with my problem? Thanks in advance for helping!

Kind Regards
Lewis

Hi Lewis,

It sounds like the issue is related to block sections. In NL2, trains will only auto-dispatch when the next block ahead is clear. If your control panel says “waiting for clear block,” that usually means there’s either:

No block section set up after the station – Make sure you’ve placed a block brake or properly defined the next block section after the station.

Another train occupying the next block – If there’s another train ahead or your layout isn’t divided into multiple blocks, the game won’t allow auto-dispatch.

Block segments not connected properly – Double-check your block brake settings and ensure they’re assigned to the correct block numbers.

Try going into the Block Section Setup and confirm that each station and brake zone is configured correctly. Once the next block is clear and properly linked, auto-dispatch should work again.

Hope this helps!

Spot on. I’ve wasted way too much time staring at that 'waiting for clear block' message only to find out I forgot to set a brake run as an actual 'Block Brake' in the settings. It’s always the simplest things that trip you up in NL2.
